The Power of Giving

Giving is such a deeply powerful practise. It is something that I'm really exploring at the moment. I'm noticing that the more I connect to my passion for life, the more I am inspired to contribute. By this I don't mean saving the world neccesarily but I notice that I am looking for ways I can give something in my everyday life.

Every time I can give my gift, the gift of my time, my listening, my talents and unique skills, I feel more connected with life, with others. I feel more alive and more fulfilled. There is a deep satisfaction in giving that is equal, in fact that surpasses recieving.

I don't want to think small about giving any more and I realise that my holding back with my gifts was out of a feeling of unworthiness and inadequacy. You know, at this point in my life I have just reached a stage where that belief in my inadequacy just isn't cutting it any more. I'm actually just bored with that old stuck record.

Contribution is the most powerful way we have of expanding beyond ourselves and giving our love to the world. I have lived a full life so far, both wonderful and incredibly challenging. My deepest fears and patterns of defense have honed certain qualities in me though and these qualities are actually some of my greatest gifts. So... I'm allowing this burning, this longing to contribute to motivate me to bring my gifts and get over my fears about doing so.

We all have so many gifts to bring..... What's stopping you?

"Everybody can be great...because anybody can serve. You don't have to have a college degree to serve. You don't have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love"   Martin Luther King, Jr.
